Stability of Spherically Symmetric Wave Maps
We study Wave Maps from R2+1 to the hyperbolic plane H2 with smooth compactly supported initial data which are close to smooth spherically symmetric initial data with respect to some H1+μ, μ > 0. We show that such Wave Maps don’t develop singularities in finite time and stay close to the Wave Map extending the spherically symmetric data(whose existence is ensured by a theorem of Christodoulou-T...
متن کاملGlobal Regularity for a Logarithmically Supercritical Defocusing Nonlinear Wave Equation for Spherically Symmetric Data
We establish global regularity for the logarithmically energy-supercritical wave equation 2u = u log(2 + u) in three spatial dimensions for spherically symmetric initial data, by modifying an argument of Ginibre, Soffer and Velo [3] for the energy-critical equation. This example demonstrates that critical regularity arguments can penetrate very slightly into the supercritical regime.
متن کاملThe Dirac equation in D-dimensional spherically symmetric spacetimes
We expound in detail a method frequently used to reduce the Dirac equation in D-dimensional (D ≥ 4) spherically symmetric spacetimes to a pair of coupled partial differential equations in two variables. As a simple application of these results we exactly calculate the quasinormal frequencies of the uncharged Dirac field propagating in the D-dimensional Nariai spacetime.
متن کاملSelf-similar spherically symmetric wave maps coupled to gravity
We investigate spherically symmetric continuously self-similar (CSS) solutions in the SU(2) sigma model coupled to gravity. Using mixed numerical and analytical methods, we provide evidence for the existence (for small coupling) of a countable family of regular CSS solutions. This fact is argued to have important implications for the ongoing studies of black hole formation in the model.

‎We study curvature properties of four-dimensional Lorentzian manifolds with two-symmetry property‎. ‎We then consider Einstein-like metrics‎, ‎Ricci solitons and homogeneity over these spaces‎‎.
